shopping cart trick and credit score...

Is my cs too low for the shopping cart trick to work? Ex 581, Eq 612 & tu 547. All are Myfico scores, I am in Ohio. Thanks

Comenity pulls EQ. I THINK your scores must be in the mid or upper 600s to work. Someone else chime in if I'm wrong. GL OP.

The best way to figure out if the shopping cart trick will work is to try the shopping cart trick. But in my opinion your scores are a bit too low.

Victoria Secret, Express, and JCrew seem to be far the easiest.

HSN is pretty easy too but I got that after Express

Buckle actually was super easy

Gettington has a pre-approval but it's HP's upon applying but they are just a step harder than Fingerhut but actually decent prices and products so I found them to be useful over time vs a 1 time just to get the card and bag it later when scores were up.

I've tried quite a few times with ny&co. I went to comenity's site today and looks like ny&co cards are no longer thru them. I've also tried with Victoria's secret, express &vcf over the lady 3 wks our so with no luck. Yeah. They are probably too low......

I am kind of curious how they approve people for those type of cards i haven't got one popup since last july when i started trying. I don't think its score or cr related?

Do you have any credit cards right now? What baddies are on your reports?

I have tried with different variations of my name, and it still doesn't work , but not really that big of an deal since i probably wouldn't want any of those cards due to it being an new TL

To Themanwhocan, I have 2 ca's from 2011. One I am waiting for it to be deleted. The other is a utility that I am currently working. I have student loans that have reached 150 days past due but have paid as agreed for the past 10 months. Scores are 581exp, 574 tu and eq of 612. Oh yeah I have a judgement on my tu that has almost been satisfied so will be working to get this removed next month but it is there. I do have an sdfcu visa sec cc with a cl of $1000.

I just tried it again with Jcrew, and still nothing for me :-) I hope its not my score thats holding me back lol

Ha! Finally figured it out. I've never gotten one before either and was wondering what I was doing wrong. I just never went far enough through the shopping cart! This time it appeared for me when I selected checkout, then checked out as a guest instead of joining site. Had to select shipping options and then hit next to billing before it showed up at the top of the screen. Off to experiment on other sites, I tried J Crew, but, don't shop there ever.. lol

Yes alot of people don't know you have to get to the payment screen with some. I was able to get comenity accounts starting with a 620 score.

I am so excited I was pre-approved for a vickies card, it only asked for my last 4 of ssn so it should be a soft pull. I am so oooo excited.

Going by a list the Gerald56 posted earlier this year. Victoria's Secret (Comenity) pulls Experian. My Experian Fico score (through Myfico) is currently 581. Just an fyi for anybody wanting to know........ I will confirm this is the case once I run my report in a few days. Since I got pre-approved for the Vickie's card ($500) last night I've tried J. Crew, Brylane, MyPoints Rewards, Express and HSN with no luck. Their credit guidelines are probably stricter than Vickie's but I am gonna keep trying anyway.

FICO EQ score 633

its just wierd to me how do they know if you are preapproved without any real personal info other than your last name. seems scammish?
