Prequalified Offers

So....I think my credit is in pretty good shape at this point, and I'm not really looking to apply for anything right now...but I find it mildly upsetting that I NEVER recieve prequalified offers, either in the mail, email, or on the online prequalify sites...

I know that doesn't mean much, but I just feel like it would be fun to get those in the mail. Make me feel as if I'd actually made progress. (Yes, I am opted in)

Does anyone else have this issue?

Does anyone else have this issue?

what bugs me most is the pre-qualified offers I do get are for, First Premie, personal loans with APR's up to 300%, pre-approved catalog cards (typically upto $400 CL), yeah just what i need another store card with only twice my lowest limit target card for a company selling crap.

My wife gets pre-selected to apply at AMEX both personal and bussiness cards. My son has Citi bank sending him offers every other week.

Yeah, My sisters both get offers in the mail daily, Citi, Amex, BoA, and I'm over here like "I get nothing"

Offers seem to change at the beginning of every month, meaning, if you fall within a lender's offer parameters (score higher than XYZ, inquiries less than XX, util less than XX%, no derogs, etc.) that you'll see the prequals at the beginning of the following month. In my case, I checked and checked and Amex's offer came on the 2nd, Citi's around the same time and when I was FINALLY able to get Chase and Barclay to spit something out on their websites, it was around the 1st or 2nd of the month. I don't know for certain, but I think they have a "refresh" on or around the 1st of each month from the CRAs and if you fall into their offer bucket, you'll start getting them. I know for me, it was derogs and inquiries falling off and getting my util down below 5% seemed to trigger the online offers. I was in your shoes for a long, long time though. I think to get a tried and true prequal offer with a specific interest rate and the opt out prescreen notice affirming it's a strong offer, your reports have to be in very good shape. With good care and responsible useage, the offers will come. There's no doubt about it. And, when you get your first one, it'll feel dang good.... I was just there in March of this year.

The only one i don't get pre approved offers from is BOA, i wonder if there is something about my fico score they don't like.

CK is always making offers but not sure if they mean anything.......they show your chances of getting approved from "poor" to "very good" I already have several of the cards they list as me having a poor chance of getting but can't seem to get their citi cards they say I have a very good chance of getting. Does it make any difference if you apply from their site?

The problem with ck is they base their pre qual judgement off the assumption of your transunion report. However lender may pull from Equifax or experian.

Before you trust that. Google what the lender is likely to pull for your state. The you will know better of your chances if scores are close to transunion score

they get kickbacks if you apply from their site thats about it. I don't think your chances are any better or any worse if you click thru them.

I did 10 days ago on discover it. It gave me recommendation. But did not say congratulation. I pulled trigger any.way by calling onphone to get a feel. Took about 5 mins. Got approved. 2500 limit. It's ok

I wouldn't hold my breath with amex I have been waiting all summer for 50 k offer from amex for prg , still no love from amex

Nope, no prg offers at all. I have gotten the green card and BCE recently. They aren't any better than the general offers on the website.

Where do you go to see your offers online? When I do the thing that says "Login to see exclusive cardmember offers" it just takes me right back to the regular splash screen with 3 generic cards on it . No "sorry no offers for you" or anything.

I wouldn't really call it offers they are mostly generic ones the ones I get. when you get an offer its like an popup when you log onto your account .

At some point I had the option to "opt in" for email offers. I can't remember if it was on my account somewhere or where. But I opted in for offers and so I have only been receiving them via email. I don't have any offers where you are refering to online in my account. I think the emails are general and not really target specific. The snail mail offers I was receiving were target specific, IMHO.
