Minimum spend for bonus question.

With Chase... Specifically the CSP, can anyone confirm when the three months to meet the bonus spending requirements begins?

Is it date of approval?

date of activation?

some other date?

I've had one vote for date of approval, but that doesn't seem fair since I wont even have the card for up to 2 weeks. If it is date of approval, I'm going to call and have it rushed!

You can always call the customer service number. At least on my Ink cards, I was told that it was actually one hundred and a few days, because they allow for the card to be in transit from the data of application/approval. The Chase representative told me the exact day my 90 days ended.

Everything I have read online since posting this question seems to indicate that the clock starts ticking on the date of approval, but I believe I like your idea. I am also not sure if 3 months is three calendar months or 90 days or some other measure as you suggest.

I believe I will go ahead and have the card expidited and then ask for the exact date when I call in to activate. Thank you for your suggestion!

Luckily for me my min spend for CSP was completed in 60 days because I had a big vacation to spend it on but I will suggest asking the customer rep and get it from different reps to confirm the dates. I am working on Cit executive card now and whenever I do any spend I call them up and let them tell me how much I have spent to see if it correlate with my numbers and it most of time it does-amt can be off if anything is pending. Chase may be the same but Citi gives you extra time to meet your spend because of your card transit time. I was approved on May 24(sat) and they expedited the card but monday was a holiday so I didnt get the card until the wednesday. They say I have Sept 7th to meet the spend. On another forum an OP miscalculated his spend by $34 and was told it was too late-eventually they game him some of the points so please confirm correct date as well as the amt of spend.

I think I read that same post. Honestly there's too much at stake to try to calculate it down to the exact date or dollar. I always try to meet the spend requirement in the first 45 days by a few hundred dollars, so there's no question about it. I'm also working on a Citi Executive, fortunately dear mother needs new window treatments and offered to help me out haha.

With 2 new cards to meet spending requirements on, I have had no shortage of offers from my wife to "help me out".

Generally it is 90 days from date of approval...so count on 80 days to reach the spend limit.

As others have mentioned, the 90 days (not 3 months) typically starts on the date of approval.

Chase generously gives you 103 days to account for mailing time.

It's better to be safe than sorry (i.e. meet it one month early or call for the exact date).

If you are tight or short you could always get a serve and use it to load the serve, then spend it at your pace. Of course load the serve and call csr to make sure it counted.

Chase is very lenient with their bonus rewards. In many cases if you even fall short of the bonus requirements they typically honor it anyway.

When I got my CSP I had referred a friend to get it. He went it to the branch and they offered him 40k points with only 2K of purchases in the first 90 days. (That was the offer in my local chase branch) I called chase and told them that I had referred a friend and he got less requirements for the bonus, she told me she would submit a case for this. I received a letter stating that if I don't hit the $3k spending, by the end of 90 days, they will honor it with the $2k I had already spent on the card. I knew I would hit the $3k in less than 60 days but I wanted to be assured I would get my bonus even if for some reason I didn't hit the $3k. Lol

Upon receipt send a request via secure messaging center for exact date. I like to use he secure messaging center because it gives you a record of they're responses. Something to refer to incase things were to go sour.

My $75 annual fee does not count against my club carlson $2500 spending.
