Amex cards...

So I have a capital one and a chase freedom(just got approved)

I will probably garden for 6 months but I wanted to know what are the typical requirements for an amex card. I don't have a particular one in mind but I do want one as I heard their Cli are generous if you follow the 61 day system

If you have a low limit cap one, and I'm guessing the chase isn't reporting yet, stay away until you age/get limits up/show some usage, and payment history.

I'd listen to everyone else but when you do apply, for for the Fidelity AMEX imo.

I think the minimum is like 6 months of credit history. Got my first Amex with 9 months of credit history and it was instantly appoved so YMMV. Some people have also said that the charge cards are the easiest Amex cards to get if you want to get your foot in the door.

Think the OP wants an Amex branded card, not an amex network card.

Yeah I'm not getting pre approvals for amex at all. I have a score of 710-720 across all three Bureaus but that's recent. Had fraud on my credit and was in the low 600s a few days ago.

My limits are 800 for the cap one, 1200 for the chase. I had the capital one for 2 years and have never missed payments

Have you tried the CK version of their "preapprovals," or signed up for email offers at the Amex site directly?

I never got any preapprovals with Amex but was still able to get cards with them. Really it's been that way for all the cards I have in my sig. Only actual preapproved offer I've ever gotten was for some Credit One card.

3x CLI (see OP) doesn't apply to the Fidelity AmEx.

When you sign in, and "see your offers," like what cards you can get with your score, you'll see a hyperlink either on the top right, or bottom left of CK asking you if you'd like to have them check for any prequalifed offers.

Yep I just saw that. I have not had "any offers" haha. Well my credit score was just recently bumped up a lot. Maybe I could wait for a bout a month or so for the prequals to go through easier. Who knows

Use the seach bar here for prequalifier card sites, and what to watch for, so you know it's a solid preapp offer. Kinda like Chase's, which I consider 99% effective.

Discover, Barclays, BOA, etc...etc. You could even try the creditcards cardmatch tool, to see if it gives you anything beyond first premier, and capone...lol. Don't put too much faith in that specific list though.

Lol , the only other lender that im getting a prequal for is Citi. And I honestly feel like they suck.. Who knows

I consider Citi to be a prime lender but their rewards compared to others like Discover, Chase and Amex are kinda lacking. Wells Fargo tends to be kinda worse in the rewards department.

I was also "pre approved" for the discover It student card... Lol I'm not even a student so... huh?
