diphendrix, as an aside, I don't know who you bank with, but if you bank with Chase you can get the Chase Disney Debit card. There is no annual fee, and you get the exact same benefits as the Chase Disney Premier card except for the rewards earning on money spent (which you can really do better with elsewhere). You get the Disney Vacations discount etc, just like the credit card. Now, if you want the actual credit card then do what's best for you, but I thought I would bring it up. We are going to WDW later this year and I got the Disney Debit for the discounts and the Character Meet and Greet, etc.

Anyway, something to think about.

You get the same discount on disney stores, merch, etc as the credit card. You get a discount online at the disney store too. You get the discount on vacations and crusies. You get a free meet and greet at the parks especially for cardholders as well. The only differences are that the Premier has a few extra card designs and with the credit card you get 2% back at gas, grocery, restaurants, and most disney locations. However, you might as well get a Fid AMEX or Double Cash and get 2% off everywhere. Not to mention the credit card has a $49 annual fee, and the debit card is free. It's pretty awesome I think.

Now, if you simply want the credit card, I get it being a Disney lover and all. Just saying that you should check out the Debit card first before deciding.

I have the Disney debit card too. It's a pretty cool design IMO. Mine has Mickey Mouse on the front.

Anyway, I think Chase can be very fickle when it comes to new accounts, thin credit file and inquiries but not impossible to get your foot in the door with. Just might take a couple of times to get it right and especially getting a good recon person to talk to if you get denied still.

Of course you can get all of the same perks with the Chase Disney Debit card. Like private character meet & greet, shoping and dinning discounts as well as discounts to ticket event and park tours. However I got a $50 Disney gift card (using on my dec trip) and for cruises you get usually a $50 cruise credit. You get 6 months 0% free financing on using your card to book cruises and WDW vacations which you would not get with the debit card.

True, there are other cards out there that offer better rewards for sure. But I wanted "in" with Chase. I knew from reading here on the forum that first cards tend to have low limits and I didn't want or need a big limit for my Disney Chase card, so I got $2K but that will set a good history for cards I want in the future with them CSP and Freedom and I will get higher CL most likely. Also, the $2k helps my utilization overall. Lastly, the Chase Disney card is 15.24 APR so if you want a card and are getting stuck with the 22.99% then this card is a lower APR option (not that I suggest carrying a balance on them beyond the 0% financing but things do happen).

Those are my reasons. I love having Mickey in my wallet! Best luck to you whatever you decide!

BTW, I would not recommend apping unless your scores are at least in the 680's and you have 1 year of CC history reporting.

I think Chase looks at history with them as a big factor. I got a Chase Freedom 6 months ago at $500 CL, got a CLI to $2,000 3 months ago, and got approved for the Disney Premier for $4,000 CL at the same time, which was my highest at the time. Just this week I was approved for a Slate with a $600 CL, and a Sapphire Preferred with a $5,000 CL.

This is with a limited credit history, and 30+ inquires on my report, so I believe they will take history into account. I've noticed they seem to be generous with the CL on the Disney cards as well, and the APR isn't horrible.
