Citi DoubleCash denied

I applied on 9/2, and I got the letter today. The only declined me for too many inquires. I've never dealt with Citi. Should I try to recon to even try and get a toy limit or do I not stand a chance? How is citi recon? I have 20+ inquires on each report.

I did start gardening as of the 3rd. On the 2nd I apped for CSP and Slate, both approved. Fidelity AMEX and BOfA 123 are pending. Citi DoubleCash denied.

Yes, they stop affecting the score after 1 year, and fall off entirely after 2 years.

How old are the inquiries? Citi doesn't like more than 6 in the last 6 months and they probably wont overturn the denial if that's the case.

I doubt such endeavor would be successful. If the OP can justify the need for the Double Cash card and is confident of his/her chances, the decision is ultimately his/hers.

They denied because of too many inquiries? I got approved instantly and I know I have many inquiries as well.

They have been known not to ask and just HP again and in all reality you did ask them to re-consider...that and the fact until this new card came out really caused me to stay away from Citi

There rewards system and cards sucked until the edition of some new perks and the double cash card now

Essentially, when a reconsideration is requested, you are asking the lender to re-review their original decision from which in certain cases requires another HP - perhaps from an alternate CR. Reconsideration for credit and lending policies will vary by each lender.

+1 in most case CITI will pull EQ for second HP/reconsideration

And lately with a border line app they double pull on the first app EX EQ

I got approved for my TYP card with over 20 INQs and my AAdvantage card with over 30. But then again all these CCCs are so weird so it's ymmv

Edit: For my TYP they pulled TU and for my Executive they double pulled me, EX and TU

I'll call Monday, if they laugh at me so be it! I just wanted in with Citi. I think Citi is just about the last big lender I haven't established with other than BofA.

My inquires are so high because I've only established credit less than two years ago, and in these two years I've acquainted myself with many of the big lenders in a short time. I don't need the credit, but I wanted in the door with them all to find out who I like best and for what. I only have 3% util as I always PIF accept for small 0% financing offers such as my school books at the moment.
