Secured CapOne CLI

So I had my CapOne card for more than six months. My CL was $300. On the six month statement/payment I went from $300 to $500 which I thought was a CLI. I recently requested a CLI increase online and was denied. The letter stated they did not do CLI increase on secured cards.

Anyone able to get their secured CAP1 increased more without putting a higher deposit??

I will be closing this card within a year. This was just a helping hand in getting my credit back on track

I believe I have ready where some people have received an CLI on their secured cc but is YMMV. I just recent closed my secured cc after having it for 5 mths. It did the job I needed it to do.

So you would recommend closing it once credit is rising? I am thinking of closing it before it hits a year so I do not have to pay the annual fee.

Cap1 wont give customer initiated CLIs. In my opinion once it has served its purpose move on with your credit journey and close it.

I got a Captial One secured card in 2011. I paid $99 dollars for a $200 limit. They raised me a few months ago to a $750 limit. They didn't send a letter to explain anything. I went online, saw the limit, and called them. I asked them if they made a mistake. LOL I had no idea they gave CLI's on secured cards. I'm keeping it open since it's my longest aged credit card.

that was your cLi. You might get another. But if that is oldest card. I would not close it fir lousy 300 bucks. As it I'll affect your credit age. Hence credit score. Just think of it as a long term investment. Very long. . And kiss it good bye. In 2 tears. When your new cards age. Then get it back.

I opened my secured card in Januray with 300.00 and after 6th statement cut got auto cli to $701.00
