After your Bankruptcy falls off your credit report do banks have anyway of knowing u had a Chapter. The reason i'm asking is because my Chapter 13 is due to fall off my credit report in October of this year?

One more thing i thought BK stay on your credit for 10 Years. I just called TransUnion an Experian they told me my BK will fall off in October but i filed my BK back in 2001?

chapter 7 = 10 years, chapter 13 = 7 years hope this helps

That would be 7 or 10 years from discharge not filing.

No it is from filing....my credit report states mine will fall of in 2011 and it was filed in 04 and discharged last year.

what is discharge and is there a certain time frame that you have to wait?

Date of removal is never date certain... could happen at anytime. BK code states BK will not remain on credit report for no more than 10 years. Typically, CRAs remove BK13, for the most part, approximately 7 years after filing date and BK7 is removed approximately 10 years after filing date.

Chap 13 is 7 years from date of FILING for EX and TU, but 10 years for EQ. It is NOT from discharge date. Chap 7 is 10 years for all 3 CRA's..........
