Sam's Club Credit PC to MasterCard ?

Has anyone been able to PC There sams club credit to the new sams club MasterCard since they have rolled it out? I have called a couple of times to CS and both times I got two different answers. 1) No they are currently not upgrading any store credit cards to mastercards. 2) yes we are upgrading from store credit to mastercards but only by invitation and it does not look like you currently have an offer, however we welcome you to apply for a new sams club MasterCard. Just kind of fustrating, I really want the 5% cash back on gas but not worth another trade line and hard inquiry. Just curious if anyone has been invited to upgrade or had any luck requesting.

It is by invitation only and it does happen. And, as far as requesting a PC from the store version to the MC, it just won't happen. You have to be solicited (online or by mail). Some folks have reported in their "desperate" attempts (i.e. lack of patience) and tried applying again to gauge their chances for a MC and end up with, sadly, another store card version.

Thats what i was afraid of. Oh well, I guess it will stay in the SD. Just thought maybe I could use it for more than just utilization. I have had the card for about three years with a 10k cl. Used it about 3 times to purchase some electronics a while back but have no other uses for it. Maybe one day I will get that special invitation

If you have had the store card for three years with a $10k CL it maybe worth while to apply for the Mastercard. It's a new trade line when they upgrade from the store card to the Mastercard. The only thing it would cost you extra is the inquiry. YMMV

10K is the max CL for the store line. Go apply for the MC in the store and you can keep both open unless you tell them to close the old one. I kept the store @ 10K and easily bumped the MC to 10K within a couple if CLI's online. I'm stuck at 10K on the MC though until my profile ages a bit more with the MC on there. They wouldn't specifically say why they can't go above 10K but, I'm guessing it's the 20K exposure between both sam's accounts and limited time with the MC just over 1 year.

BTW the new rewards structure on the MC is pretty decent. I've racked up quite a bit between gas and some larger things like annual car insurance / weekly tolls / monthlies like cable, phone, etc.
