Shop with Points (Amazon) is pretty nice

I recently discovered this (pun intended ). You can use points/cash back/etc to deduct from Amazon purchases. In comparison to my Quicksilver, I'm not a fan of Discover's redemption policy. For me, this Amazon thing solves that problem since I shop there often. And it looks like it has every major CC.

I'm sure a lot of people already knew about it but hopefully this finds someone who was not aware.

Can you rent movies with points?

I've tried before but couldn't find the option, maybe I overlooked it.

More information here. You have to link the card you want to use as a payment option, then register it for Shop with Points (all in "Your account," beneath "payment methods"). It allows you to redeem points as a deduction to your cart total when checking out. Since it has no minimum (for Discover, at least), it's a really good option for using your rewards before the card's minimum redemption policy.

I don't know if movie rentals are considered one of those; never rented from Amazon before.

I don't think it can be used for prime renewals or digital content.

Just an FYI, this is one of the worst way to redeem MR points. If you don't travel much, only then it makes sense to redeem easily.

And Thank You points as well. Below 1c per point. UR will give you 1c, still not as good as transferring but a fairer value.

I'm not a huge fan of this. I prefer to cash out my rewards as a statement credit. If I use my rewards to shop on Amazon, then the amount I would otherwise be paying for is lower, hence less reward points when I go pay.
