That was my plan but all this info on here made me doubt some things . So you think the secured loan won't make a difference? I'm planning on getting a car loan in a year or two .

Try Discover pre qualifier. Do you need a secured loan? Have you tried goodwilling the collection?

I get discovery applecations in the mail but I never applied. I don't need a secured loan but I heard its good for someone like me with little history . Both collections are ER ambulance charges that I have done nothing about .

Thanks for replying.

Getting that negative off your reports will be the best thing you can do. I wouldn't app for a secured loan unless you really need it. I suggested Discover because they typically pull EQ and seem to like people with young-ish credit files. Not advocating an application, but its an option. Gardening never fails either.

with your scores, i think you're good for any mid-range products out there: Discover, Chase freedom, some of Amex, Barclays, Citi, etc. I wouldn't apply for any secured stuff anymore, and wouldn't quite hit the top tier cards either. but in the middle there's plenty for you to pick from. LOTS OF CHOICES!

and if you care about credit limits, try to incease the CL of your cap1, and once it shows on your credit reports, then apply for others.
