Is this conversion possible? Has anyone had this done before? I'm curious because I think I'd rather have the Visa than the store card.

Unfortunately, it is not possible. The store card is issued by GE/Synchrony and the Visa issued by Chase. So there is no way to convert across two separate entities.

Correct. OP - if you want the Amazon Visa, you'll need to apply separately for it.
