Right now, my primary card is the CSP but I wonder if I can make more in rewards by applying for and getting the AMEX Everyday Preferred. Any insight is appreciated.

Earning potential on the EDP is amazing. (according to my 1dt grade level math a bit which may be wrong) It's... 4.5 on groceries, 3 on gas, and 1.5 on everything else (with the 50% bonus)hard to beat that.

My wife has the CSP, and I'm an AU. We use the CSP for most Visa/MC only transactions and restaurants, and EDP on groceries and gas. We probably spend $100-150/wk eating out. In the past two months, it has taken an average of 8 days to hit the 30 swipes between both of us. The 15k MR bonus hits your account very soon after your reach the $1k spend. Last month, with the addition of the sign up bonus, I added 20,000 MR points, and spent about $1,300 on the EDP.

I will say that I have found it very difficult to find a real need for my PRG lately. I am going to continue using it this year since I'm only $5k away from hitting the 30k MR bonus, but will probably cancel the PRG if they don't do anything to drastically change the rewards structure.
