First Diner's Club billing statement

Received my first Diner's Club statement. Couple of things that I did not expect:

First, my annual fee did not post

Second, the entire credit line is available as Cash. Would not ever use it but it seems on most cards only 10-20% of line is for cash.

Third, and this is the strangest. There are 10 categories for interest charges:

1.9% offer

17.75% offer

5.4% offer

8.9% offer

9.9% offer

Prime + 3.15% offe

Prime + 5.75% offer

Prime + 9.9% offer

Revolving Balance offer 0%

Prime + 8% offer

Never seen anything like it.

It wasn't an offer. These are all the categories listed under finance charges. Maybe a list of upcoming targeted offers. Usually a credit card bill shows purchase APR, cash advance APR, Balance Transfer APR not 10 categegories. Not really sure why

At a guess it's not a list of upcoming offers as much as shoddy programming. These are the rates that COULD be on the card (for all cards?) and instead of just showing those that actually apply they show them all. So as you say, most statements show Cash Advance Interest and Purcahse Interest, even if these are 0. This just seems to show all possible, even if they don't even apply.

I don't have diners yet. But I also nioticed cap one made entire 3500 available as cash advance. Hmm strange.

Did your statemnt show points earned fo rteh period?

It seems like they rolled this new product out without being ready to service the accounst properly.

I spoke to them yesterday to ask if there is anyway to see points earned online and they said not yet but they are expecting that to be added to the site soon. Can only start making online payments on 11/5.

The CSR I spoke with had to put me on hold everytime I asked a question to check with the supervisor.

When it is a make or break for a dying company they have to do whatever possible to rebuild. Even if that means releasing a product In a hurry and learning about the product themselves little by little. Most of the time when a company doesn't have enough money to hire a brand new department for a new product, they have existing departments handle the new product as well. So these CSRs have to learn a new product in a hurry. Diners Club had to do this. Just give them time. They will be able to answer your questions soon without any supervisors.

Hmmm and I wonder if this could be a reason as to the recent increases (well recent for me because I just joined this site) for the approval of their cards along with huge limits? Are they trying to spur spending to stimulate growth?

Give it a week. I've been calling every two days after apping and have gotten exactly nowhere. Still pending as of this afternoon.

Those are all old interest rate offers I saw on my Club Plus statement (the former revolving portion of the sProfessional accounts they aquired from Citi). Must be a legacy thing. Hopefully they also don't report just like the legacy accounts

BMO (and the other Canadian banks) weathered the financial crisis quite well. They also have the M&I bankcard operations too. Hardly amateur, just rapidly growing.
