Can I convert a Discover card from one type to another?

If I have a Discover Student card, is it possible to call them up and ask if I can have it converted to a Discover More card? Just wondering if it's possible, not whether or not they'll let me based on my scores.

When I graduate in a couple of years, I don't want to have to cancel my current card and get another is the only reason.

My understanding and not from personal experience is that Discover is very good about product changes-

Yes, if you switch to a different rewards card, the new rewards will be active after your old statement closes.

You can keep the original card, your account number will stay the same, or you can ask them to send you the Discover More card.
