Hi guys
I had my diacover for a year now. It was my first card and I have a limit of 500$... How should I go about trying to get a increase wih a soft pull . I pif all the time . Thanks all

I haven't will it result in a sp or hp. And I have a amex everday card of z5000$ of that makes a diff.

I recently got a CLI on Discover. I called and I spoke to the rep for this request. I specifically asked the rep to let me know if there will be a SP or HP. They mentioned that they initially try with SP, if it doesn't match the requested amount; then they will do a HP, in which case you can reject the HP. Fortunately, I got my requested amount just with SP [but I was decided to reject if HP is needed].

Put your desired amount first. In the first try, it will be an SP. If with that SP, they can increase the limit, they will do that. If they cannot, the system will come back saying contact CSR / hard pull required. At that time, you can call in.

I'd say don't try too big first time; maybe 2k-2.5k?

You can try it every 3-4 months (general rule, not 100% accurate).

They've been giving us 6 month auto-CLI's on our $11,000 Discover since 1yr after open.

For me the magic figure for SP CLI was 2,5K ..this worked 3 x in a row. When I entered more it asked for HP so I stopped. Good luck!

I'm guessing even if you let them hp. Will it be transunion.? Because when I apped it was eq. Which is worst than ever. No ideal why eq sucks. Even with same info. I want cli on discover. But transunion is my best score.

Great luck calling in and having the CSR working the board. They have gotten my increases without HPs. Note I have kept the requests under $2,500. Others have success using alternate approaches.

That helps but how's the rest of your credit? Has it imprvoed since you were approved? All the usual factors still apply with CLI's.

The online CLI only works for some. I suspect over the phone works for more but since it's Discover YMMV.
