Amazon Store Card - Your starting/current limit?

So I thought I'd try to get my first store card over the weekend - the Amazon store card, for a new entertainment system I want to buy. I was approved for $2200, but this isn't enough.

Since it was over the weekend, I waited til this morning (Monday) and called to see if they'd give me more - all their CLI requests are SPs, but the analyst said no!

I was surprised, as I have a very low utilization on all my other cards and could easily put this and other purchases and get points elsewhere.

So I'm curious, to those who have this card, what was your starting limit, and what kind of CLI's have you experienced over what time period?

I've read some posts of people starting with <$1k limits growing slowly over time, and other posts where starting limits of >$2k seemed to grow faster. Interested in your responses.

Approved 03/09/2014 $600

1st CLI-(2nd month) after 2nd month statement $900

2nd CLI-(4 months) after 4 month statement $1250 also Current:

This Synchrony store card is very low with CLI's but they do come (SP) to the calender.

I was approved in March 2014 starting limit $1200. In July I got an auto CLI to $1600 and October I got another auto increase to $2800.

I am carrying a small balance (around $200) but it's mostly in a 0% promo.

you called 877-379-8170 and they said no?

My partner was approved Friday for just $600 and called into the credit solutions number above and was granted an increase to $10k (what he asked for)

4/14: SL: 1,700

7/14: Auto 2,000

I didn't even use the card and got an auto CLI.

I was approved 1/14 a starting CL of 800 as of today its at 2000. I would advise calling again. When I asked for a CLI on my Walmart store card they gave me 100 dollar increase called back and was bumped to 2000, this card was also opened 1/14. Good Luck!

So do you peeps have some magic number you call? I always get blowed off when calling Credit Solutions for both Walmart/Amazon except ONLY for Lowe's which went from 800 to a massive 10K in a single call. Local stateside reps and not in the least itchy.

4th month $900 CLI without requesting .

May call the backdoor number to see if I can get an increase for Christmas gifts hehe.

I have had the card for a while 4 or 5 years I think. My starting limit was $1500 and within 4 months it jumped to 4k. It has been there ever since. I have asked probably 3 times for CLIs - two with GE and 1 with Syncrony. I have been denied every time. This is over the phone and I am only told that I am not approved at this time. The denial letter - from both banks - says that the amount of increase I asked for exceeded their allowed limits. I never come close to maxing it out and I PIF unless I am financing but it is so irritating that I can get no where on the phone while others seem to have no issues. Hitting the luv button gets me the irritating message that I have to call to request my CLI.

Go figure. I still love Amazon and being a prime member and now getting 5% as a statement credit so I will absolutely continue to use the card.

ask SUPER HIGH, they counter.

WOW! That is impressive. I just called asked for a new CL of $5000 and the rep said she couldn't do it and that I'd receive a letter in the mail. LOL! Oh well. Not sure if I should call and try to speak to someone else or give it up... I think the latter.

yea, wait for letter and possibly just wait for 4 months.

I have only been able to get instant recon on 2 of my GE Credit lines approved (Lowes and Ashley Furniture) all the others they always say no.

they are a weird bank. but I still try on all of them!

Opened my card around 05/12 w/ a starting limit of $800. Then it was reduced to $660 in 09/13. CL is $1200 via a CLI call to credit solutions about 4 statements ago. However, my CS is a lot better than it was when I got the reduction.

As long as it was credit solutions and they said they would review your tu report now then no don't call again for at least a month.

Got my Amazon store card on 7/1/14 with a $1200 CL and a random CLI a few weeks ago for $1400. I have 4 statements cut but no luck with the luv button. Should I try to call or wait for 11/1/14?
