I closed my Fidelity Amex and transferred the CL to my BoA Travel Rewards.

I don't like the fact that Fidelity Amex's rewards expire every 5 years, even though I know I could redeem it before it expires.

Citi has a lower minimum redemption threshold as well. It also doesn't require an existing relationship to acquire. The fid amex requires a banking relationship.

I don't have the DC, but I'm honestly not a big fan of Citi. I will have it once my CDP hits the 12 month mark and I PC that sucker but I can't imagine I will use it often. I rarely ever stumble into a place where AMEX isn't accepted and my general distaste for Citi will likely insure that the card remains in the SD.

I love my Fidelity AMEX and FIA has been nothing but good to me. Unfortunately I can't say the same about Citi. Maybe I'll come around once I actually have the card?

Since I've had the Double Cash card I haven't used my Fidelity Amex once. I originally figured that I'd use it at Costco, but I also have the TrueEarnings card and since I would like to keep that card active (my only Centurion backed Amex), I may just forgo the extra 1% cashback and use it instead of Fidelity.

In my experience, Citi customer service kind of stinks and their website interface is too cluttered, so BOA/FIA has the advantage there. I never app'd for the Double Cash card, I was fortunate enough to PC my Diamond Preferred to it, so it was a win-win situation for me. If I wasn't able to PC into it, I'm not sure I would have applied for the Double Cash at this time (unless I got the $200 bonus offer!) and would be perfectly happy continuing to use the Fidelity Amex. For my fairly limited spend, the $25 redemption threshold is much better for me than Fidelity's $50 threshold.

The only thing that gives me pause about the Double Cash now is that I'm not convinced that it will last long without being nerfed or eliminated altogether. At least the Fidelity Amex has been around awhile and seems like a more consistently viable option.
