I want my new CL to report on my JCrew. If I make a purchase with my card, do I need the balance to report in order to generate a statement? Or can I PIF before the statement?

You can pay in full. The statement will still be generated and it will show 0 balance.

Actually, I believe you have to let some balance show for a statement to generate.

My DW got the card Jan of this year, we made initial purchases and had it paid off by March. From March until a month ago no statement generated.

She was still able to go from $250 initial to $4250 with the call in method mentioned by CA, but no statement showed for those months with a 0 balance.
