None that I know of, and I don't think CCCs would promote it, as on a super basic level, I would think it would be classified as MS, as you are buying a cash equivalent. If you bought a gold bar, fine, but because they are legal tender coins I would say no.

You can buy gold/silver bars and coins online with a 2% card but all the sites that take credit cards charge a premium over the cash price when using CC and it's usually atleast 5% so that would negate any cash back.

And this is a horrible idea. Chase, Amex and Citi have been closing accounts for this. This is a huge red flag. Most banks will not want to deal with this risk and money laundering concern.

I would use Discover for this, since they have 5% cash back on all online purchases (but the total cash back is limited to $75 for $1500 purchase cap limit). With the cash back your purchase would account you to cash purchase price or even cheaper sometime.

You can buy coins or bars on APMEX's ebay store and process your payment through Paypal. I just made the purchase and I see that the transaction got recognized for 5% cash back bonus.

Depends on the coins...if they are not graded ("bullion" coins), then maybe (but again, people buy these coins just to collect) but if they are graded (like by NGC or PCGS), then they are a "collectible" which is a different category altogether.

PS - Apmex is pricey, you're better off with Modern Coin Mart.

I was just at that restaurant last week too.

Guy Savoy in Las Vegas also had a menu that was full of gold flakes and truffles and it was around 600 per person.

Haha but I get what you mean. I don't think anyone "craves" for gold flakes, but it's really a decoration and "feel good" factor for some people. I would honestly rather they give more uni or abalone.

Buying regular coins with cashback/point cards and then returning them to the bank was a thing a while back. The government eventually wisened up and added fees and charges to buying coins with CCs. Not sure about gold/silver coins since they are likely worth more than their cash value at the bank, so maybe you can do it. Just be careful since you don't wants your CCCs to close your account for MS if you buy large sums.

The premium for the the two sites that I have been researching for the last month charge 3% and 3.8% for using a cc. Even at those rates, its still much higher than 2%
