Chase Amazon Visa and Freedom

Hi guys,

I have a questions in regards to Chase Amazon Visa and Freedom rewards.
Both credit card points can be used to pay at Amazon at checkout.

Are both points separated from each other? So that means that when I have 20$ earned from the Amazon Visa and 5$ from Freedom, can I used the combined points at Checkout?

I today have the Amazon Visa and thinking about getting the Freedom in January, but do not want to have my Cashback splitted up too much.

As far as I know in order to use your points at checkout you also have to select that card as the payment method. Say I had 20.00 pts in Chase Amazon but wanted to use my Freedom card for the remainder of the $50 purchase for the 5% bonus, I can't do it. So it follows that you can't use two different stacks of points either.

If Amazon lets you buy gift cards with the points that would be one way. That I've never tried.

This made me curious so I just tried. I successfully bought an online Amazon.com gift card by just using the points on my Amazon Visa.

I have both cards but Amazon checkout won't let me combine points from both cards. It's either one or the other... unless I'm missing something.

Amazon allows to use only the points associated with 1 card for each purchase. Alternatively, you can purchase Amazon gift card using points from each card and then add these gift cards to your account which will add up all the amounts together. Then use this gift card amount towards your purchase.
