Amazon Visa Rewards - Signature Version?

This may seem like a dense question - but what is the difference between the signature version of the Amazon Chase Visa versus "regular"? Does it say Signature under the Visa logo or do you get a different pamphlet with it? I got a Platinum benefits booklet with mine and was curious. . .

Yep says signature under visa on the sig version. Coworker has one

My Amazon Card is through Chase and I had my Amazon Rewards Card changed to a Visa Signature. And this is what they said when I called as I was also curious as to why exactly I have a new card and I took the time to go through fine print to make sure there wasn't anything hidden - Fees etc.. Here is the difference

Amazon Visa rewards card through Chase- This card has a late payment fee of $39 I think as I dont have the correct amount

- This card has a credit limit (I underline for a reason) and if you go over the limit fee, there is a fee

- The payment for this card is set on a particular date and cannot be changed

- Rewards etc..

Amazon Visa Signature through Chase

- This card does not have a late fee

- This card has a credit access line instead of a limit. That means for although the shows you have X amount of money approved to you, you can charge more than you are approve for and won't be charged an over limit fee. That is why it is called the credit access line. For example, my card has a $7000 limit but I can charge up to 2,000 more the credit analyst said.

And no, I dont work for Chase, but I have my personal and business accounts with them and have several of their credit cards. When I received my new card in the mail, I wanted to know why as I thought my card was compromised. I called customer service and the lady (had an offshore accent) asked her the difference between a credit line and a credit access line. She put me on hold and came bck to transfer to a credit analyst. That is where I got my information and I hope it helps....

If JPMC is being compliant with the law (and they clearly aren't in many areas) you should not be charged a fee for going over the limit with the non-sig card unless you have opted in. The default behaviour is that over-the-limit charges should be declned. Major loss of a revenue stream for banks when the CARD Act mandated opt in.

$5000 CL or more with Chase gets you Sig. card.
