Perhaps I'm just paranoid, but I think Chase might have me on a blacklist for balance transfers or other promotions. I have had the Slate card since before it was called Slate and the Amazon card for two years. Another member here posted that Chase/Amazon offered him a nice 0%-0% 15 mo transfer offer. I wrote Chase and asked for the offer and quickly got a response (paraphrasing) "there are no BT offers on your acct at this time, but it has nothing to do with your standing with Chase bank. We'll let you know when there are offers.... blah blah".

Not only are there no special offers with my Amazon card, I can't initiate a BT with Slate or Amazon even at their normal/lousey rates. Simply say's transfers aren't available at this time. My other 5-6 credit cards will allow me to BT anytime even though I wouldn't actually transfer unless I get 0%-0% or other excellent offer. I have zero balance on both cards. My scores are above 800 with AAoA 12 yrs and total utilization is less than 6%.

So is this a Chase vs me thing or just a Chase thing? I do have a history of being in class-action lawsuit against Chase and winning a small settlement regarding promo check offers.

Others that have Chase Slate or Chase Amazon "outside" any promo rate, would you please attempt a balance transfer and let me know if they allow you to initiate one. I would appreciate some kind of feedback before I call Slate with the "evidence"!

I mean, well sure the credit line is open. But the customer wants to use that for a particular purpose, and the bank says "no you can't". Especially when the customer is willing to pay the cost of credit (i.e. asking for no special favors).

In my understanding, blacklisting comes with a proven track-record of wrongdoing, credit-wise; examples are including the creditor in bankruptcy, letting the debt go into collection and then eventually fall off the report after 7 years. I'd understand those being credit-related "algorithm" to deny any fresh credit, even with excellent current FICO and income, as well as report (blemish-less for 7+ years).

My understanding could be totally off the path here.

Chase did recently offer me something like $300 if I opened a checking account.

Not sure I want to get a Freedom card to PC if they are going to handcuff my accounts. I should apply, get the $200 bonus and then close all the accounts. I'm not using their cards anyway.

Perhaps my lack of Slate card useage plays into this also. I used it once about 2 months ago, but it was 3-4 years since it was last used prior.

You should move your CL from slate to Amazon and close the slate and if you want a BT card open a new slate!

i think you have to wait 60-90 days, not sure what it is exactly day wise from old slate to new slate but my partner did it... I would never keep a slate around after the initial BT is paid off and done with.

How can you get a new slate card that you can't bt? That is all that card does and the terms would be part of approval.
Slate card doesn't get reoccurring bt's and I certainly don't have one on my amazon so I don't know why you think you are being treated differently

I just got a BT offer from Chase--the first in a VERY long time--for a 2% fee, 0 interest until Jan. 2016. I transferred a little over $10,000 to my $30k limit card, which already had a $9,000 balance at a 4.99% promo rate. And yes, this is for my Slate card.

I can't figure out any rhyme or reason for when offers are extended. No reason I should have gotten this one, but I took it. I'll have the entire balance paid off within the promo period, no problem.

I simply cannot initiate any balance transfer to Slate or Amazon, even at the standard 4% transfer fee and 11.99% or whatever rate. I can balance transfer to all my other cards that are non-Chase Bank any time I want.

Still rather curious if I'm being singled out or blacklisted by Chase. Does anyone else holding a Chase credit card seeing this screen below? I get this message if I try to initiate a transfer from the "Payment/Transfer" screen on the home page. This applies to my Slate card and Amazon card.

well, imbedding and html didn't work so hot... please click on the first url there then the photo on the left. I know,,,, I should have practiced this beforehand .

Mod edit- removed link to personal photo stream.

Not sure about this whole "I'm the victim and they're singling me out" feeling you have toward those two cards. Chase has already responded to you based on your initial inquiry regarding the BT offers/options. You also mentioned that one of those CCs had not been used for a period of 3-4 years (give or take). If your accounts are not elegible for any BT offers, regardless of promotion (standard or 0%) then that's what it means, you just won't be able to execute such function online (or via phone). BT offers are made from time to time to various individuals depending on a variety of factors.
