Is anybody experiencing a lot of fraudulent charges lately? I had an AMEX replaced a couple months ago and now my CSP was compromised too. It's getting a little excessive lately. I don't know if there's anything you guys do that works as far as preventing these things from happening but I'd like to know what they are. I'm not reckless with them or anything.

Well to be honest, you could also raise the question back to yourself.

How did your spending pattern change the last weeks/months, are you shopping on new websites? Perhaps one got compromised and it is not public already? Perhaps you are paying in a restaurant which has a "untrustful" waiter. Uncareful with friends.

Not blaming anybody here, but I have seen such things happening. Especially if you had two completely different cards compromised, think about were you used them back to back or in short timeframes.

Also, some fraud is caused simply by data stolen from merchants and perhaps issuers. Not much you can do about that.

My husband has his boa debit info stolen turned out it was a teller at the bank and it was the day after he deposited 5k (I told him cant trust those tellers)

His boa credit card info was stolen too he only used it once since he got it and this when he swiped it at a mom and pop place which probably had that credit card thing on it this was in the summer and the **bleep** bags spent 1k at great adventures yes 1k lol which is why boa called him asap because that was excessive for an amusement park.

Ive had a bogus charge to my discover card for a magazine I never heard of in my life and when i called discover they asked me to contact them first when I did it was a bogus number thats when discover tried to and credited me back the $20.

I think alot of time its data breach, credit card skimming machines and employees that work for these companys. Just keep checking your cards everyday or every other day thats what I do.

I had a replacement BoA debit card sent to me after a store was involved in a data breach. In the letter, BofA didn't identify the merchant but mentioned that I shopped their prior to the incident. A cousin of mine had her BofA debit card replaced after noticing fradulent charges on her account. Learned they were occured in Canada.

Yes, had a MasterCard compromised (new card) only used it once in a small gas station where my card was charged for VS $176 and change, bank closed and replaced the card ASAP. Here is one for you, wrote a check to pay a credit card bill with my account number written across the top edge of the check and my checking account got hit for hundreds of dollars illegal debits, upon investigation the check info was stolen by an employee of the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank processing center. Working with the bank, we charged the employee with fraud (found guilty).

I've had fraudulent charges on my card earlier this month actually (for the first time since I've owned any debit/credit cards in the last 11 years). I'm not sure where they got my info, but it was my Chase Freedom card that I just opened in July. Chase's fraud department was emailing/texting me constantly one night while I was out, turns out someone was in another state trying to use my card (It was never lost, and in my wallet at the time). It is an unsettling feeling for sure

A week ago my freedom card was also compromised. Some low life used it in CA Polo men outlet store for 400+ it went through tho.. but chased contacted me right away and asked if it was me I told them I have never lived in CA. They took care of the charges for me. Later i found out from my personal banker that some idiot made a copy of my card and swiped it for stuff. With that amount the store staffs should check the card/ID/signiture etc, that same idiot tried to use the card again at the same store for another $700+ but that time chase blocked it. I used my ritz card for like $200 for a play tickets they checked ID.

It hit my Chase Freedom card twice within 2 months of each other. I received email notification of an $11.99 charge from Netflix. My Netflix isn't $11.99 and isn't charged on my Chase card, so I called and had the card replace. I only used the replacement card once (at Walmart) and a few weeks later there was another fraudulent charge.

I've set up all my credit cards to email me of all charges. Only Citi doesn't have that option.
