I am sure that they (NRA) will have not trouble finding a new banking partner if they wish.

I'm curious what does that mean for current card holders? Will the card be considered grandfathered in or will current cardholder just get cancelled overall? I don't have a card my self. I was wondering a little while ago what current events might do to the NRA Visa card.

I don't think any major bank would accept them anytime soon as a partner because of the toxic environment. That said, perhaps they'll partner with a small regional bank.

They could always make their own bank/credit union, it would be an interesting concept.

Welp, there goes the 5% gas card I was going to app for in 5 months. Not necessarily a supporter or detractor of the NRA, just wanted that sweet cash back. Looks like my chase AARP is safe for now!

FNBO announced they won't renew their contract with the NRA and it appears new apps are no longer taken.

Any speculation as to what will happen to current cardmembers?

Obviously we can't discuss politics here; it's a shame that politics plays a factor in such things.

Politics aside, I just got this card in December for the 5% gas and sporting goods categories, and I am hoping that my card doesn't get closed.

Hopefully they will allow even new card holders to product change to the Ducks Unlimited card which also gets the 5% gas/5% sporting goods categories.

With all due respect, I don't understand how anyone could be "happy" or say "good riddance" to any credit card that offers real value to someone.

I think it's fair to call-out anyone who would take pleasure in such a thing...unless it's about the politics, in which case we've already gone there.

FNBO has announced that they will not renew their contract for the NRA Visa card.

"FNBO has informed us of its intention not to renew the NRA co-branded card program when its agreement with the NRA expires," Visa said. "We will support the issuer's efforts to wind down the portfolio smoothly."

Not sure what that means for those that have the card, does wind down mean that they will close the card?

I assume it's likely that the NRA will find another issuer, although what ever card results might have a different reward structure.
