This will be very interesting to follow. I imagine there will be/are plenty of unhappy people as the kinks get sorted out. Have they said if all of the CC will follow?

Nothing specific has been said about credit cards as far as I am aware. The executives have been saying all along that debit cards would switch first. I can only imagine that they have customer data showing who travels internationally where Visa and Mastercard would be needed. Those types of card products and customers would likely be kept as is to minimize ~~outrage~~ backlash.

Duh.

Translation: Your debit card will now be useless outside the U.S.

Interesting move by Capital One. Switching debit cards to the Discover network could mean better fraud protection and possibly new perks, but it might also cause issues in places that don’t widely accept Discover. Curious to see if this will affect ATM access or international usability.
