pizzadude, you are right LexisNexis is not a CRA service.

But , I speculate that since LexisNexis is a data provider for businesses, any request made by a person seeking thier

help in securing vital documents, surely, won't be eliminated from their databases after the retrieval of the requested

documents. I think, they will keep any information they collected from your request. These are (in their words) vital documents.

I hope that makes sense.

Here's a service I just found out about to order your vital records without a trip to the County/State offices.

Haven't tried it but, it seems worthwhile. http://www.vitalchek.com/

Just to add: yet another database with more of our information. LexisNexis is now looking out for you; they can save a

busy person some time, for a nominal fee, of course

eta: further research revealed many complaints about this service. Buyer Beware

veracious

Interesting service....I wonder how much they are charging.

But this isn't a CRA service, right ? You pay them to retrieve records on your behalf, they don't keep them and update them.....right ??

These guys have been around for a long time: I've used them twice for personal records in the past decade and a half... including the time I had to get a birth certificate on short notice to actually prove I was a U.S. Citizen.

No problems whatsoever in dealing with them.

Great yet another site where our info is. Sometimes I wonder how secure it is. With identity theft on the rise , I'm nervous about these sites.

Sounds like it is a good service ~ of course i'm assuming that they don't keep a copy of your birth certificate on file but just mail it to you.

I'll have to dig around on their website to read up on their privacy and data retention policies.
