My last Discover FICO score was within a couple of days of when Barclay SP'd me. The scores were the same. I believe both are still using TU-08. I don't have a Wally card to compare.

My FICO with Discover went down for three mounts from 770 to 723. Is Discover using a different FICO version? Now my Walmart and Barclay's score went from 770 to 765 on both for the same time line. When I applied with Avant for a loan they said my score was 723 also. I want to get a Barclay's card but don't know what score I should believe. Has anyone else had this happen to?

My last Discover shows 745. Actual TU score at the time - using a fresh pull here - was 816, which is also what was showing on CCT. The difference is that when Discover pulled, TU dished up a cached report that still included the tax lien that disappeared at the end of February. I've been dealing with this issue for several months. I even pulled my report directly from TU recently, and it's clean.

My last Discover FICO score was within a couple of days of when Barclay SP'd me. The scores were the same. I believe both are still using TU-08. I don't have a Wally card to compare.

I also have a problem with the discover score. It was the same as walmart and barclay until a couple months ago. I freaked out thinking something bad was added to my report. But after looking closer, there was nothing new. My walmart is 739, barclay is 733 but I suspect it will update soon. And cct is 739. Discover 675. I have 2 old paid charge offs that will drop off aug and sept 2016. I'm just waiting it out. There has been nothing else updated or added to my report. And I have pulled new scores since discover score dropped. It is just the discover score that is off.

From Discover FAQ after logging in to my account 5 minutes ago:

- I got my FICO® Credit Score from somewhere else, why is it different? What's the difference between the FICO® Credit Score and other credit scores?

There are different credit scores available. Some are educational scores such as TransRisk and ExperianPlus, while other scores such as FICO® Scores may be used among other information by lenders when they make their credit decisions. The FICO® Credit Score we provide is the FICO® Score 8, based on information on your TransUnion credit report, and has a score range of 300-850. FICO® Credit Scores as well as other credit scores are based on credit bureau information, and may be different from one credit bureau to the next. When reviewing your credit score, keep in mind that it gives you a general snapshot of your credit report information at a very specific point in time, so take note of the date, the credit bureau and the range for that particular score.

P.S. Discover no longer displays the "dial gauge" graphic - just a score in a box (at least that's what I now see on my screen).

Or, maybe they are experimenting with a newer scoring model. Or, maybe Transunion is sending Discover a Fico score from the wrong scoring model for some of us.

Yesterday afternoon, I received an alert from Myfico 3B monitoring. My usually stable TU score dropped from 849 to 932. This was due to an overall balance increase from $7 to $84. Until now, this type of change had absolutely no effect on my 08 score. Large balance changes only effect my Fico 8 score by a few points.

So now, all of the sudden, my TU score from Myfico matches the Fico score I've been getting from Discover for the last 3 months.

I pulled a new report from CCT yesterday and the TU Fico score was 846. It did not match the 832 in the Myfico TU alert.

I went ahead and purchased a new TU report from Myfico today. My Tu score is now 846. There has been no change in my report since yesterday, when my 832 TU Fico score was in line with my Fico score from Discover.

Clearly there is some experimentation being done with a new scoring model. Or maybe the fact that Discover and Myfico say that it is Fico 8 is more important than all empirical evidence.

If they state it is Fico 8 in writing - it's Fico 8. These deep pocket companies are not going to misrepresent such a thing and open themselves to lawsuits.

I can only speculate on the score differences you are seeing - best guess is different point in time data sets from TU are being used.
