<DIV>In checking my credit report, there was a new collection of 173, from a phone bill I apparently didnt pay (and don't remember) from 6 years ago.&nbsp; It dropped my score 70 points.&nbsp; If I pay it in full, does anybody know how much it might raise it?&nbsp; And the company will not remove it from the report, only report that it was paid in full-they absolutely refuse to remove it.&nbsp; I just want it off because I am applying for a loan.&nbsp; thanks</DIV>

Your in a good position to negotiate with the lender being that the collection is almost ready to disappear off your report in 7 years. You should almost most definitely be able to do a PFD. (Pay for delete). Read up on PFD.
