That's a 27% credit utilization rate. Get that and keep it below 10% and you'll credit scores will be higher.

I believe this is accounting for the AU cards as well. When I get my FICO alerts it seems to not include those as my recent alert from TU was bankcard balances changed to $3000 or some odd amount.

Here was my last TU alert regarding balances

TransUnion

The total balance on all your Bankcard account(s) has changed. This amount is a sum of all Bankcard balances.

674 -> 668

DETAILS

TYPE

All Bankcard

TOTAL BALANCE

$3,102.00

What do you think my chances are with Discover? Charged $1000-$3000 per month with them and paid $1000-$2500 per month with them. Left 12th statement with a $373 balance. Earned close to $200.00 in cashback that will be doubled too.

I think I counted 11 credit cards.

I have 3 credit cards and what I did is changed my payment due dates so that all 3 credit cards have payments due on the same day. This way when my monthly ending statement balances are reported I know exactly what those balances are and thus my credit utilization rate.

My credit scores are EQU: 676, TRANS:653, and EXP: 681.

i owe about $6,700 in collections but they're really old and not effecting my credit and will be falling off soon.

I owe $19,000 is child support which i pay every week out mf my pay checks.

what should i do?

Welcome to the forums.

A small secured loan my be your best bet. I don't think the size matters if it is your only loan. I got one for $500 from my credit union. They took $500 from my savings account and immediately put it into my checking account. I paid it down to under 9% balance remaining. The term was one year. I didn't set up auto payments. Now I pay about $5 per month. As I pay it down, the money minus 2% interest, goes back into my savings account.

My credit reports reflect not only that I have an installment loan but that I have made substantial payments to it. I figure I got a 20 point boost.

Some people have had luck with Alliant credit union. They give longer terms than my CU.

The name for getting this type of loan to improve your score is called playing Reindeer Games.

You can do a search on this term and find numerous threads.
