Do pre authorizations affect my credit score?

If a merchant takes a pre authorization on one of my credit cards, does that authorized amount affect my score or credit in any way? Does it affect my oustanding balances ratios?

No, I would think nothing happens until the payment posts to your card and then the CC company has to report it to the bureaus.

On a side note, you can opt out of credit card offers, I would assume that by extension, this minimizes unsolicited preauthorizations.
