I pay $40/month for MyFico monthly 3B and monitoring. My estate planner pays for my CCT "for free" for $14.97 per month the first year. I time them 2 weeks apart during my rebuild.

Since I was UNDER 550 back in Jan17, I needed at least one but got one free so I did both. Now that I'm at the 700 level (soon 740s) I will probably cut MyFico and try to get CCT for $15/month going forward. If not, I will cut that, too and just pay for 1B if I worry about something.

I use creditchecktotal once every two months or so. Spend a $1 and cancel before 7 day trial. Cost me $6 to $12 a year. I go directly to the CBs themselves and pull my files if I want a detailed report for free.

It depends on what you want.

CreditCheck Total will give you your three FICO8s and reports. I'm not sure how their plan works, so I'll leave that to others. The thing around here is to sign up for CCT's $1 trial then cancel right away. Some do that several times a month.

For a lot more money, myFICO gives you a lot more scores (28, I believe). FICO8 scores update whenever an alert is generated. Other scores are updated when you get reports. Your reports are updated less frequently than what you're going to get from CCT.

Yes, the one thing that I did notice was that CCT does not give Mortgage Scores and that is my big concern at this point. I think I will cancel CCT and stick with My Fico and check CCT every month and cancel as you all have suggested, thank you!

I have the myFICO 3B quarterly plan, and plan on using the CCT for the two months for a $1 that I don't get the 3B report. I could of course upgrade to the 3B monthly, but in turn that cost more.

(I've studied, developed a course for & taught interface design, and have worked as a software developer -- I really care about and appreciate a well-designed interface.) I'm not at all a fan of the EX sites from a design & functionality access perspective. I wouldn't recommend any of the services for their identity protection offerings (and think the EX UI for that is bloody awful).

Once my scores stabilize above 740, I'll probably cancel my MyFICO 3B subscription, rely on EX & CredKar for alerts, and monitor the scores (albeit 2-6 weeks late) with my cards (TU from Discover/BoA/Barclay; EX from EX and Amex; EQ from Citizens Bank/Citi). The TU & EX are FICO 8 scores; EQ are Bankcard 8 scores, which are really the only ones I care about now, 'cause all the house financing is done for the foreseeable future, and our vehicle is paid for and should last the better part of a decade. And I can get my full credit reports from annualcreditreport.com if I choose (and stagger them to one every 4 months).

Experian offers several other credit monitoring products in addition to CCT. Personally I prefer Experian CreditWorks Premium over CCT. The CreditWorks trial at $4.99 for the first month is obviously more than CCT's $1 for 10 days but it offers much more useful info and quite often Experian will make other FICO scores like mortgage, auto and banking available for free. And if you continue after the trial expires, the monthly cost of $24.99 is less than what MyFICO charges and you get 3B reports every 30 days.
