Yeah always ask the dealer what version they pull that’s what you need to do and it could be an arcane version like AU3 as suggested above which you can hardly find.

So, I really need a new car while I'm paying off a lot of old debt to raise my score and came across something very strange.

I have a membership with Experian that shows my current Fico 8 score, as well as a few of the other versions. And right now (while waiting for more things to update) my Fico 8 is a 591, and the other versions are between 530-550. I was just told by a dealer that my Experian score was like a 480. How is this possible? Would it still be showing the score/report from May 1st, which could make some sense?

Depending on the level of membership you have and whether or not you pay it gets updated daily but I think my monthly or on some specified actions.

Go into the Experian interface and it will tell you the score is as of whatever date.

It could be your fico auto scores they pulled. Sometimes the auto scores are lower than the other scores, depending on your past history with auto loans.

Experian doesn't show all of your scores. My car loan through Ally(formerly GMAC), updates my account quarterly with my Experian Auto Score 3. You won't find that on the Experian App.

You sure won’t, neither will you find BC3.

even MyFICO doesn't give the variations of score 3.

Thanks guys. Yeah I have a paid subscription with Experian that updates daily, even got my scores from MyFico to compare and they were both identical.

And no, I have never had a repo. And actually have a paid off auto on my report with no misses. Though I do have 2 30 day lates on my wife's car that happened late last year when I was out of work as well as her as she had just given birth.

And you're right experian only shows auto score 2 and 8. I guess 3 might just be a killer. Though I suspect more-so that it was from the beginning of the month before everything finally updated and shot my credit back up.
