Trying to resolve disputes

Last year, in November, I sent in a dispute on my Equifax report about 2 collections that have no reported agency on file. They are from 2003 and I have no idea what for. My question is: Does Equifax always take several months to resolve a dispute letter? Also, for people that have had successful disputes, do they inform you of the progress?

I've learn that they do send you a reply when the dispute is resolved. The thing with them is that you have to monitor when you send it off so that you can be on top of it when the 30day deadline comes. If you fax over the dispute also it will help you get the result a little quicker.

Are you saying that EQ has not resolved your dispute for months?

By law they only have 30 days under most circumstances. If you dispute via annualcreditreport.com, then they have 45 days.

The only exceptions are if you contact them to give them additional information, at which point the time period they have to invstigate is extended. If they are taking months to resolve your investigation, have you been contacting them in the meantime, allowing them to continually extend their deadline?
