MyFico not seeing my paid off accounts

I also use equifax to monitor my credit and get alerts that they are showing accounts paid to $0 but I dont see where myfico is getting that info. Can anyone help? Also my score has not gone up and I paid off 4 different accounts.

Hi...remember that Score Watch doesn't alert for balance decreases. Score Watch does monitor your score about once a week, so I would think you would be getting an alert with a score increase if you have drastically paid down your credit cards. (Are these credit cards?)

Another question: Do you have your "Target score" set to your previous FICO score? When you do get an alert, go into "settings" and change your target score to your new FICO. That is how you will get the most alerts. I change my target score right as I am looking at the alert so that I don't forget to do it.

I paid off my Hooters Mastercard, Target, Cap 1, Credit One. I paid them off right before the statement cut which was about 2 weeks ago. Hoping to get a nice bump.

I have not bought a new score and report but I got an alert the other day about a different account and it had the same score as I had prior to the alert.

you have to buy new scores. the alert just tells you there was a change; it doesn't update your scores for you.

Not necessarily. I think that there are some alerts that don't come with the new score, but most do. For instance, here's my latest:

Score Watch alert
February 9, 2010
View details of other recent alerts:

Alert: Your FICO® score has exceeded your target score of 759

Score Watch alert/Changes to your FICO® Score
Your FICO® score has gone up to 760 on February 9, 2010.
Target score alert: Your FICO® score has exceeded your target score of 759.

Of course, the reason didn't make sense, but the score was given. If I wanted the new score to display on my Products page, or if I wanted to figure out what might have triggered the change, I could then pull (= pay for) a new report. But my Score Watch graph has lots of little dots on it representing score changes that came with alerts, when I didn't pull a report.

If the trigger that caused the Score Watch alert was not one that results in a score change, I'd say that that's when you won't get sent a score.

Hi laz98,

I have never bought my scores other than what I get through Score Watch. I get alerts quite often. Most of them bump my score up or down a bit, but I'm given the new score in the alert. Once in a while, the score doesn't change, but I still get an alert for an alertable reason.

To the OP...you are aware, aren't you, that the score on your "home page" isn't going to change unless you pull a new report??? This is a change that myFICO made (why, I don't think anyone has figured out). You have to scroll down and then click "Go" to see your alerts. So, you have to click through a bit to see your latest score if you got that score with an alert.

wow, i just goofed on tons of posts yesterday! no more posting on A-D-D days, i guess

did they change scorewatch? or has it always been this way? i thought it was the same as buying our FICOs; if we wanted to see changes, we had to buy new scores.

Nope, it's always been that way. It's not just an Equifax report monitoring service, it's an Equifax FICO score monitoring service. (When it's behaving.)

Click over to your Score Watch link and take a look at your Score Watch graph. There should be nearly as many little dots on the graphs as the number of alerts you have received, unless your score simply never budges, or something's set up wrong. I do occasionally get an alert stating that a balance changed or a squirrel hiccuped or something, and there was no score change.

You can also look at your archived alerts and see if the score change is buried in there somewhere. Sometimes it can be skipped over pretty easily.

yeah, i knew it was SCORE watch, but i still thought it only alerted you to changes, without giving you the results. thanks!
