FICO up 84 Points!!!!

My Experian score increased from 599 to 683 in the past 2 weeks. I paid off half my CC accounts (4400 down to 2200 owed on 7 diff cards). I owe 120,000 in Student Loans but in deferrment and owe 6k on car loan.

I have 10+ hard inquiries which is bad.

I recently was successful with a GW letter for a collection that will be deleted soon but still appears.

My question--will that deletion get me close to 700? I still have 4-5 other negatives that are bad. For example, a BOA account with 120 day lates, 90 60 and 30 day lates consecutively for 2 years but last reported late was 2008. Is that hurting me?

What's my best course of action to get to 750? I wrote GW's for all my accounts with 1-2 negatives and am hoping for positive outcomes. Need a new car soon and hoping for much better interest rate this time around!!

Well congrats on your successes so far!!!! How many derogs total do you have? The 120s and 90s are hurting you the most, along with your inqs. I would continue to GW, and continue to pay everything on time. You may get a little spike with the upcoming deletion, but my suggestion is to keep working on the rest of your profile. Can't give a defi itive time frame, but with due time, you can be at 750! Good luck!

VERY good news for you!

This gives me hope. I am planning to pay everything down and hoping for a nice bump. I have other issues, but crossing my fingers!

OK...... Seems odd...... Paid down a CC from 4400 to 2200 and get an 84 point increase? Something else is going on......
