I didn't dispute when it came to Countrywide. I had the letter in hand and I went straight to the fax machine and sent the letter to their priority processing department and my credit report updated quite fast and I got copies of the credit reports and responses back from the CRA's faster than the usual 30-45 days for disputes.

I wrote a goodwill letter to two creditors and it has already been accepted by one. They sent me correspondance back saying that they had reported my info to the 3 credit bureaus. Should I still send that letter to the 3 bureaus to expedite my credit score changing?

How long does it take for the bureaus to update their info?

I would initiate a dispute online as "incorrect." That will be faster than waiting.

Let it go though the reporting cycle unless you are in the middle of a Re-fi or another major purchase.
