It's from a poem by the American poet John Crowe Ransom:

JANET WAKING

Beautifully Janet slept
Till it was deeply morning. She woke then
And thought about her dainty-feathered hen,
To see how it had kept.

One kiss she gave her mother,

Haha ~ you know it ~ And since when are chickens allergic to stings?? I think Pa concocted a story about a bee to cover up evidence of the real culprit ~ his .22

You sure Pa raided the beehive? Bears were seen in the area.
