When I first got my WAMU card, I saw something similar. I believe that the score they show you when you're approved for the score may be on one scale, and the score they show you from month to month is on a different scale.

For me, the initial vs. monthly scores were also from different CRAs (EX initially, as I recall, and TU after that, where EX is my highest and TU is my lowest).

After the initial "What in the world is going on?!?!?" however, my month-to-month PFICO scores from WAMU followed a more believable progression.

Well, when I logged on to my Wamu CC account, I almost had a heart attack. In March, they listed my score as 673. In April, they show my score as 569... I was like WTF? So I had to purchase my scores from all three. Well, gladly, my scores are TU 673, EQ 631, and EX 689. These scores I bought from myFico are the correct scores right? Anyone else experience this type of error with WAMU?

It is a bankcard (credit card) optimized version of your score from one of the CRAs. It is still done by Fair Isaac. It tries to score your risk on credit cards. The scores listed at MyFico are classic scores, which are generally used for mortgage applications, and may not be the same as scores used for auto and CC apps.

The score you get from WaMu is a real FICO score, but it is bankcard-enhanced. It may or may not be close to your Classic FICO scores you can get at myFICO, but it is still a real FICO score. A bankcard-enhanced FICO weights credit card accounts more heavily than the Classic FICO formula does.

Any score you get from annualcreditreport.com or directly from any of the three CRAs is worthless, as it's not a real FICO score.

In fact, any score you can buy that does not say it is a FICO score, as opposed to a "credit score" is not worth the paper it's printed on.

I actually just emailed my sis-in-law (She's an owner/broker of Mortgage Co) on this issue. She told me not pull credit anywhere on my own because it was not the same info that lender's are pulling (some of her customer's have pulled their own and it has been more than a 100 pt diff.).

I've emailed back to find out about about this website, but haven't heard yet. But I have a Wamu cc also and my free score with them is significantly lower than what I'm getting from Myfico.

I think what we are all experiencing is the "fako" scores you hear so much about on these forums. I'm gonna have a lender pull mine before I make any major purchases.

So since I will be shopping for an auto loan in the next month or so, is it really worth it for me to be stressing over getting my FICO score up since really what I am seeing is not what the lenders will be seeing?

Yeah I understand Wamu gives out pFico but why would my score drop over 100pts for no apparent reason? When I look at my credit report, nothing has changed during the last several months...

I've experienced the same thing...the pFICO is different, but does vary in a pattern consistent with FICO scoring. My PFICO is about fifteen points lower than my FICO. I'm figuring PFICO penalizes you a little more for high utilization (which I have).
