Current Chapter 13 BK - 600 Scores - I need more credit to keep building! HELP!

Hello everyone! This is my first message to the forum, but I've been reading and researching the boards for the past month.......soooooooo much useful and helpful info!!!! I would love to hear the suggestions of you guys on what I can do to build my credit scores and get a few more credit cards.

Chapter 7 - Jan 2002

Chapter 13 - current/active case including mortgage loan, vehicle loan, a few low balance credit cards and a year of real estate taxes.

Credit cards I currently have: Orchard MC ($700 CL unsecured), Salute Visa ($600 CL unsecured), New Millenium MC ($300 CL secured)

Transunion: 619

Experian: 602

Equifax: 592

I don't think my scores are too terribly bad to be in an active Chapter 13 case. I'd like to continue building while I repay the BK, but don't know of any other CC's or lenders who will issue credit with this current Chapter 13 status. I occasionally get pre-approved sub-prime offers, but don't want too many of those and to be bogged down with crazy fees. The three cards that I do have, have REALLY helped my score jump from the high 400's-low 500's to over 600 today. Please advise!

Try Crown Jewelers...no credit check...most guaranteed $1500 CL...make a small purchase...pay the down payment and shipping charges...then wait for them to report...

Yes you apply on their website...it's not instant...within 24 you will receive an email regarding account...usually stating account CL, ID #, basically verification...then you can use it immediately...they won't report until you purchase something...

Yayyyyyy!!!!!!!!! Thanks SOOOO much! I applied this afternoon after I got your message and 20 minutes later, I had an email with a $1,500 approval! This is awesome. I'm trying to diversify my credit portfolio, so this helps. Do you know of any gas cards that I would qualify for possibly? Thanks again!

No..try www.whogavemecredit.com...people post what they've been approved for lately...you can search based on scores...name...etc....I love the website....

Thanks one MORE time! That was a great website as well. I didn't, however, apply for a gas card. I went back to the Orchard website (I currently have an Orchard card, one year, perfect payments and 2 CLI's) and applied for another card. I was instantly approved! Yayyyyy again. I don't know what the credit limit will be, but I'm happy all the same.

Thanks! I'm like a mad scientist at my PC now! LOL I'm thinking about a Juniper/Barclays, but I'll keep reading the forums to see if they're a TU puller.....that's what it appears, but I want to be sure since this is my strongest score.

Turned down for WAMU, turned down for Juniper........applied to Hooters, but got the 7-10 days message. I will call them tomorrow to see what the status is on that one. I think I'm done for now. I'm satisfied with the two new ones I got this week, so I'll just work my existing trade lines until the end of this year or the first of next when I'll have 19 negative items falling off from my Chapter 7 back in '02. I should see a BIG increase in points then, I'm hoping.

I applied for Hooters...last Saturday...no response yet...I'm waiting...but Crown Jewelers has never sent me an email regarding shipping...that's weird..I ordered last Thursday...they usually ship in 2-4 day...and if not they suppose to send email notification...so I'm waiting...

Can a finance company place chapter 13 on your credit file just because you allowed your vehicle to get repo'd? I thought the most they can do is place a repo in your file?
