New house, need stuff

Closing around June 15th. We need to upgrade some of our "stuff". We're moving from a 3br 1500sq' apartment to a 4br 2300 sq' house. Mortgage, taxes will be less then rent. What is the best way to finance furniture, a credit card, personal loan, store credit? Thanks in advance for any advice.

i'd wait until i could pay cash for it. if you're saving on not paying rent, it shouldn't take too terribly long. i would think paying interest on furniture would suck.

besides, it gives you time to really think about what you want for your house.

You're probably right. We do have some cash to play with and weren't going to finance a whole lot (less then 2k).

plus, furniture shopping is fun! at least for me. i wouldn't mind going to every single store until i found what i wanted, then go back and checking every single store again. that'll take some time!

I just bought a house and what i did is looked for a card that had 0%. Now also make sure you read the fine print in there. I finally found a card that is 0% interest for 1 year. Now i cannot be late on any of my payments. If i do then i am looking to pay about 25% on interest. Look around for those 0%. Also if you are looking for washer/dyrer look for the no interest/ no payment for 12 months. Home depot and lowes has them. But remember you need to pay them before the 12 months is up or all the interest is added in.
