Judgment Dismissed

Can anyone give em soem insight. I checked my credit file, there was a judgement fro Asset Acceptance filed June '06. I made payment arrangements with them and last paymentn was November 2005. So why the judgment 6 months later? I called and received a letter from thenm stating that accoutn was paid and no further payment as of 11/05. Called the courthouse and found out that the judgment was dismissed. I was told to come down and get a notarized copy of dismissal in which I coule send to credit bureaus. Will EQ and EX delete this from my file? Considering judgment was filed after date that account was paid, is there any possibility that this will stay on my account since it was dismissed and nto vacated? Needless to say, I want this off as quickly as possible.

I would just dispute it-

If they verify - send a copy of the dismissed judgment-

Did you go and get the letter??...you can just dispute it online as vacated or dismissed...but it might be a lot more promising...to send a copy of that letter...

You can dispute it online. It could be slow some times. You could also send them a certified copy from the court and CR would remove it. I had 3 judgments removed from CR as the case were dismissed. Be patient, some times CR can you give hard time removing the items, be persistent.

Tomorrow I will go to courthouse and get the notarized dismissal paper. As soon as I get home I will fax it to the credit bureaus with the dispute. Here's hoping that not only will it get removed quickly, but there will be a jump in my scores as well I feel myself wanting to do th ehappy dance already.

I had a judgement filed 10/2006 from my old apartment complex. Took care of it that same month and was told the judgement was not filed. Well of course it was, but im assuming dismissed because i paid it right away and never received court date. Well i came to the forums and read a little and still was not 100% sure what vacated mean but disputed with Equifax and TU- DELETED!!!!! Sending dispute to Experian today, hoping for it to be gone completely. This was scheduled to be removed 2013 so i am definitely happy. Thought i would share my judgement story.... I found out that what was indeed filed was a motion to vacate. Only EQ and EX reported it, and both as a judgement. Hmph......same date reported as judgment filed is the date of the motion to vacate. I just faxed off the info and asked if it could b corrected in the next 5 days. Let's see what happens. (keeping my fingers crossed) I have to admit, I am P O'd thinking that this has caused supressed scores and credit challenges that might not have been otherwise. I wanna see how much scores increase once this is removed.

I also have to say that I really appreciate the information that I have read on this forum. Although my situation was similar to many, reading the information gave me a lead on how to start and where to go to get some action that benefitted me.*********Smooches.

Next order of business is to see if I can GW CitiFinancial Auto in order to remove some lates before my car is paid off in October. Then who knows? Walking confidently into the mortgage lenders office!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WhooooHooooo!!!!!!!!!

Anyone with experience with CitiFinancial Auto????????

Just hope you don't get rebucketed...when my fathers judgment...was placed on my credit...I know for sure there was a big decrease....but I don't have the scores to be sure...but when it was removed after 4 months...I only got +8 pts...I was ticked off...

I got a copy of the vacated judgment and faxed it to both EX and EQ. I also called both on 6/09. Today I received confirmation from EX that it was deleted from my file. Here's hoping that I will see a difference in my scores.

MsKitty...i know this is an old post but can you share with us if your score did increase after the CRA removed the Judgment from your report?

I have a similar problem.
