Edited. I mis-interpreted the website of True credit as stating "NY Residents cannot sign up. My mistake"

This is not true. I'm a NY resident and a TC subscriber.

If you're referring to the note on the TC website that says...

"*Coverage not available for residents of New York."

...that is in reference to the line above which says...

"Plus, $25K ID Theft Insurance at no additional cost!*"

Note the placement of the asterisks.

It does NOT mean that NY residents cannot subscribe to the service.

Where did you hear this about "NY law"?

Forgive me. I edited it. I mis-read it late last night AND I read something about 'ny law prevents'... elsewhere but I cannot recall it. It Must have referred to something else and I confused it to mean that such a service would not be avail to me.

Wow, I need to sleep. Sorry :/

I AM trying to find that one statement, though, re: law. I cannot apologize enough. On the plus side, at least I can subscribe to it. Though it'll be hard to see my reports with this paper bag over my head!

LOL. No worries. It happens to all of us.

What you may have heard about NY law in regards to TC (and all other similar such services) is that the ID theft insurance is not provided to NY residents because NY State insurance regulations do not authorize ID theft insurance as standalone insurance, but only as a component of other coverage like homeowner's insurance.

The NY State Insurance Dept. has proposed legislation to authorize standalone ID theft insurance, but it hasn't gone anywhere (yet).

TY. Now, I just want to confirm that if I log in 8/12 and 8/26 (assuming updates are made in between) I will see 2 unique versions of the report, right? (as opposed to a standard snapshot)

Yes, but you have to actually update your report by clicking a link in the column on the right side of the screen when viewing your 3-in-1 report. It does not do this automatically each time you log in.

You can update your reports every 24 hours + 1 minute.
