(MY OPINION... no source)

I don't think if I buy something from a TV shopping channel I should be seen as a higher credit risk. I am just speaking in general, no cc names. It really seems unfair that they can determine our credit worth based on where we shop. So it's bad enough that I need to watch my credit, spend wisely, make sure I am never late, but now I also have to watch which CC I use at which store, ect... Just reminding people to consider this when using CCs if you are looking for CLIs and heading off CLDs. It can make a difference to some companies. From what I understand they are not sharing this data with other companies but they DO and ARE using this them selves as a part to determine your credit worth.

And I will just state. Where I shop has absolutely no affect on my credit risk. One could argue it's not where I shop but where I don't shop? Maybe. My main CC is the card that thinks I am a higher risk. Maybe it's because I shop at the wrong stores?

I'd not advise paying traffic violations with credit cards!

Message Edited by ilovepizza on 08-14-2008 07:43 PM

Use a CU card for your risky purchases. They probably aren't using any fancy transaction monitoring, and will treat you just fine as long as you pay on time!

I'm a cop. As far as I know, there is no way for your credit card company to know WHAT you paid for when paying a traffic citation, particularly if you didn't go to court over it. Depending on the state, county, and municipality, it could be listed as anything on your statement. It could even be taxes you owe. So it's hard to imagine a CCC dinging you over that. If they do, maybe it's time to dump it anyway.

They like to harass people for anything over 4 mph. So 7 under normal situations would surely have been a woop wooP. lol; not really.
