TC is good for keeping track of your various accounts - and that's all it's good for.

The scores you get there are not worth the paper you use to print them on. They are not FICO scores.

As mentioned, scores from TrueCredit are not FICO scores.

They are FAKO scores. As for what makes them change, it could be anything from what time the sun comes up to what time of night you go to bed.

In my own expierence, my FAKO scores from TrueCredit move opposite of my FICO scores, but not by any set distance.

To the other poster in regards to TU being lower.........look at the differences in the two reports. Hardly ever, I don't ever remember hearing of it, will you hear of anyone having 3 identical reports.

Those aren't your real FICO scores though Andrew if you got them through TrueCredit. They have no relation to real FICO scores. TU could be your lowest FICO score for all we know.

Most often, the reason your scores are different from cra to cra is because there are different accounts and/or different information reported to each bureau.

For instance, some cc's only report to EX and TU.

Others only report to EQ.

Does this make sense now?

@Anonymous wrote:

I am referring to my report, is this typical for Transunion to be slower in correcting and catching up with other two?

Yes, this is true for about 85% of the members here on the forums. For the other 15%, Equifax is the lolly-gagger.

Quite a few of us found that last November, TransUnion did not update reports at all. Even once. And if they don't update the real report, then all the secondary reports (TrueCredit, myFICO, CreditSecure, etc.) can't update either.

- - - - - - - -

Andrew, the others are correct. You can't predict your FICO's from your TC FAKO's. My EQ FAKO score on TC just jumped 30 points when an extra account reported a balance. No change whatsoever on FICO. Sorry, but TC scores are completely and utterly meaningless.

My TC FAKO's:
EQ: 732
TU: 697
EX: 657

My FICO's:
EQ: 709
TU: 728
EX: 730

These are based on the same info on all reports. Let me know if you see a pattern.

There is no, repeat, no consistency or link between FAKO's and FICO's. OK, I suppose that if a collection popped up, all your scores, FAKO's and FICO's, would drop.

Err, not sure where you're going with the "unbiased" thing, but I prefer Suze over Credit Complete and Standard, because the reports display for a whole year, instead of 30 days, and you can choose which reports you want to pull when, not just EQ-TU-EX all at once.

I don't bother with all the "helps", because I think you can do a whole lot better with the info that you get on the forums, and I get exasperated because I find the Suze reports tougher to navigate than the straight FICO versions. Plus I find her teeth scary. But for me, all this is made up for by the extended display period.

None of them keep updating! This catches people by surprise all the time. You are paying for a one-time score pull.

FWIW, all mods here are unpaid, and I for one spend a lot of time screaming at the poor FICO admins.

Whatever you decide to do, first google fico discount coupon code for at least 15% off, although it will probably involve some trial and error.

Full reports directly from the bureaus.

FICO scores directly from myFICO, which throws in a slightly abbreviated report with the score.

But the scores are actually crunched at the bureaus, from your full reports. myFICO is the consumer access to them.

Nice and clear now?

edit to add: the FAKO scores are from some sort of roll-your-own formulas derived from the bureaus. They either give them to you for free, as a useless little lagniappe, or they have the gall to sell them to you. Except EQ will sell you your true EQ FICO score.

I know, it just gets worse and worse, doesn't it?

Message Edited by haulingthescoreup on 09-03-2008 03:47 PM
