My debt was Validated and I want to try a settlement offer.

I have tried to do a pay in full for delete but they wont delete just update as paid in full. They will not budge. So why pay the full amount then.

I'd rather do a settlement offer but don't know how to go about it.

This is to Midland and what I owe is 3,074.00. What should I start with maybe offering them 900.00? Will they laugh at that offer? What is a realistic offer settlement they will take?

Should I call them with is offer first or do it by writing?

The SOL is not up till Oct,2009.

What's the DOFD and are you sure the original creditor doesn't own the debt?

Deesown, HappyDays was asking who owns the debt, because that is a very important step. Did you send them a DV, before the PFD?

And if Midland owes it should I just try and settle with them I know I owe this debt but i dont have the full amount they are requesting.

I would like to settle for me paying them like 900 or even 1200 but I dont think they will accept the offer.

I don't want to get sued I just want to be done with this

Do you guys think if I try and settle and they dont accept and go ahead and sue me , if the judge sees my letters of settlment offers they declined, would the Judge be mad at them for not trying to work with me????
