The bigger question is ..... what are you going to do with 29 credit cards? Oh, the misery.

I have 30-something on EX and it doesn't bother me. One member has 56+.

The law of diminishing returns comes into play with inquiries, baddies, etc. Yes, there's damage, but after a while it doesn't matter anymore. Most if any points lost were of those with FICO, not FAKO, scores in the 700s and up.

IMO, don't worry about the count. Nothing you can do anyway.

But stop apping. Pull each FICO score and compare yours to others in here to see what you can or can't get approved for. Look at sites like whogavemecredit.com to compare too.

And keep all of your denial letters. Fix whatever needs to be fixed and app again in the future. Repair then rebuild.

It all depends (fat lot of help I am!). I was declined by Amex because of 2 recent inq's, yet in the past couple of months I've added another 8 cards with out a problem or comment about the number of inquiries or new accounts, but the inq's are fairly spread out among cra's.It will depend on who pulls what, how your credit looks, how thick your credit report is. A company that 'usually' pulls TU can turn around and bite you in the **** if it pulls your worst cr. If I were you, I'd let the dog sleep a few months, at least until the economy shows signs of a little more stability.
