Anyway, she's insistent on asking for the cli. She's very cocky and arrogant so she's gonna do it no matter what the advice. I remember her saying she told AMEX Blue that if they didn't give her a 10,000 credit limit she didn't want it (I just love her!). I can't wait to report the outcome. Thanks for the response. I love this forum.

A friend had the Amex Blue for about 6 mos. Currently the CL is 10,000 with a 7,000 balance. Should she try for a CLI or wait?

Balance is kinda high. Should pay it down a little more. Amex might think that once you have a higher CL, you will keep running up the balance.

Does it matter that they are all balance transfers? This person does not use the card at all only to transfer balances because of the great deal on APR.

If i am not mistaken, once the transferred balance appears on the new credit card, a certain APR applies to it. So, that becomes your new outstanding balance on this amex pretty much.

Either way, this card's Utlization is 70%. Not sure if a CLI would be a good idea right now. But as long as they don't do a hard inquiry, i guess it wouldn't hurt to try.

Saving money is more important than your scores. If the BT APR is lower you should do the transfer.

Wow. My friend just asked for cli and got it. 5000 increase was approved with only income verification. She was also told that she would be able to request again in July. What? I can't wait until I can get one.
