Dish Network Inquiry - dispute?

I am trying to monitor my credit very closely because unfortunately I have around 8,000 in credit card debt alone. I recently had to change apartments and had planned on getting dish network instead of cable which I had before... the day I set it up and scheduled they came and told me it couldn't be done because the trees were in the way, hence I never had the service. They ran a credit check on me regardless, and I am questioning if I can argue to get this credit inquiry off of my account? It was the same day I scheduled a later time online that they called to tell me that it couldn't be done. I don't remember ever signing anything saying it was okay to check my credit, I assumed that would happen when the service was set up. Do I have a chance?

It is my understanding that they do a soft inquiry. Which shouldn't cause your credit score to drop

I doubt you'll have any luck with this. You applied for service with them so they have a right to pull your credit report, utility companies do this. The fact that you could not get the service because of trees blocking the signal is not relevant.

Keep an eye on your reports. We put an order in for service, then changed our minds and went with cable so we could also have internet. Plus we live in an apt complex and they are all wonky with having the dishes installed, so it was easier to just call and tell them nevermind. They have pulled DH's report 6 times over the course of the last year and a half. We disputed them with EQ and they came off (the other 5 that is) We did not give them permission to keep pulling credit as we did not get their service. They do continue to send mailings saying they miss us, please sign up for their service. Umm, we never had it!

This is all so very odd because when I had service installed they did a soft pull.

I had something very similiar happen with them recently. What did you say when you went to dispute them? Just not sure how to go about it.

We were considering dish, but not anymore. This is BS. I'd complain on Planet Feedback
