The simulator is an approximation, not an exact science. When you run the sim, shoot for somewhere around the middle of the range.

Hello all,

How accurate is the FICO Score Simulator?

The reason I ask is that I just had an incorrect collection account fall-off my TU report after my dispute. The good news is that my FICO score immediatley jumped 74 points. After running the FICO Score Simulator, it now shows that my best action simulation will raise my score 20 points to a high of 746.

The bad news it that prior to this incorrect collection account falling off my report, the FICO Score Simulator best action scenario would raise my score 71 points to a high of 792.

Nothing else on my credit report (i.e. utilization ratio, revolving balances, new inquiries, etc.) has changed. So, what happened to cause such a huge discrepancy in best-case scenarios?

Any help would be appreciated.

Message Edited by schlebrock on 02-20-2009 11:14 AM

Then there's that, particularly if that was the only collection, I would say that you were rebucketed. Thanks Wemmington. I wasn't even looking at that, I was just trying to answer the basic question.

wemmington wrote:
I'm no expert but maybe you were rebucketed.
